Chicago is a great city for visitors but whether you’ve got a second home here or a hotel room for the weekend there are a lot of great food options you just can’t pass up. Here are some thoughts on the Chicago favorites worth setting the HomeSecuritySystem.com alarm for and getting out of that hotel room!
Pizza: Of course you know that Chicago’s famous for deep dish pizza but how do you choose which place to go? The best bets have long lines and serve it “original” stylethink Pizzeria Uno and Lou Malnotti’s for local faves.
Burgers: Chicago’s actually got a big beef history but you know, the best way to eat it’s still a burger. You can find one on just about any street corner but our favorite’s at Navy PierCheezborger Cheezborger!
Hot Dogs: Chicago dogs are legendary – they come a variety of ways but the typical specimen has spicy mustard, gherkin pickles and onions. You can find sausage and all types of meat but it’s all about the toppings here – don’t ask for ketchup, whatever you do.

When visiting Chicago on business, more than likely the gathering location is right downtown. This is where the most hotel conference rooms are. It is also the best tourist location in the city, as you have easy access to just about everything the city has to offer.

Chicago has world class restaurants right downtown and throughout the city. Steer clear of the tourist traps and destinations found in most major cities (Hard Rock Cafe, Rainforest Cafe) and look for a local restaurant. Here you will find original food to the city. Grub on a Chicago style deep-dish pizza, or take in one of the restaurants from renown chef Rick Bayless, master of Mexican cuisine.

In between meetings, feel free to take in tours of the Chicago river (for St. Patricks day the river is died green), or city tours in giant, double decker buses. You can also take boat rides on Lake Michigan, one of the largest lakes in the entire world.

During the evening time, venture up to the top of the Sears Tower, the tallest building in the United States, and take in a view of the city below from the observation window. An entire class lookout, giving you the eerie feeling of standing on air. Can’t get enough? There’s more: Things To Do In Chicago On Weekends

Chicago is a wonderful cit to visit. So many people find that this city is exciting and has a lot to offer. One thing that everyone must see is Sears Tower. It is actually referred to as Sears but its technical name is the Willis Tower. It is 1451-foot and 108 stories high. This famous tower was built in 1973 as the tallest tower in the world. To date it is still the tallest building in the United States and the seventh tallest building in the world.

Millennium Park is another area that can be enjoyed by children and adults of all ages.Check out this link here. This area has over 24.5-acres to explore in the great outdoors. It is located near lake Michigan and a beautiful way to spend a day. October 1998 was when the construction began on this beautiful park. This park is fabulous and cost the city over 475 million to build.

Once you have spent the day viewing the sites, at night its time to gamble. The Horseshoe Casino, draws tourists for their high pay out slots and great atmosphere. Come drink and gamble and maybe go home a little richer than you came. It is easy to see why Chicago is such an exciting city with so many sites to explore.

Chicago, the second city, is one of the largest tourist destinations in the country, as the city as so much to offer. Whether you are visiting for fun, or have a conference to attend to, there are a few bits of information you must know before tackling the city head on.

To start, the main shopping district is right downtown on Michigan avenue. The Miracle Mile, as it is called, has dozens of top designer locations, and is a dream mecca for anyone who loves the latest trends in fashion. You can find a quick rundown here This is also a good location for selecting a hotel. The hotels in this area have easy access to the shops and restaurants, not to mention the subway and other public transportation. Plus there is a wide range of prices for hotels in this area, ranging from around 100 a night to well over 500 a night (for the basic rooms in each hotel).

The Navy Pier is one of Chicago’s top draws, as it looks out over Lake Michigan with its small shops and restaurants. There is even a ferris wheel you can hop on and enjoy the local sights and sounds of the city on one side, and the cool breeze from the lake on the other.
